Photo Walk Description

As this is still a work in progress, I am willing to take suggestions of what my walkers would like to see and do THIS photowalk!! :) As usual, I am in the planning stages of making this yet another EPIC walk with the usual “party” at the end of the walk for those who choose to stay past the offical ending walk time.

Our photowalk in the evening combines unique locations in the French Quarter, which has in the past included Lucky Pierre’s, Turtle Bay, Bourbon Heat, Balconies, Courtyards and more!! We have in the past combined the Photowalk with a ” Drink and Click ” theme, and will do so again this year, as it has proven to be extremely popular! We will update as time progresses and I will, along the time leading up to the walk, answer any questions, provide some tips, and of course take suggestions to make this walk what you would like it to be!!

    Good Morning Everyone!!

I hope you’re looking forward to the Walk tomorrow and just wanted to touch base on a few things! :)

If you want an easy location to park that is easy access to where we will be meeting up and ending then I suggest parking by Jax Brewery, on the French Market side. However, if paying for parking is not your cup of tea, then finding something between Esplanade and St. Ann via Bourbon or Royal residential side you shouldn’t have to much of a problem. Please don’t park past from Burgundy to N. Rampart for your own safety.

Speaking of safety!! No flashy jewellery or watches…don’t bring more than you really need in your gear packs. Don’t go walking down the street with your iphone in your face. Yes…crime has been a bit off the charts in NOLA, but being smart about things makes you safer, and not a target. Being in a group is a good thing, however, some of you will be walking back to your cars later, and we want everyone to make it there safely and intact.

Tripods can be a hassle in the French Quarter, so please bring something that is lightweight, and easy to handle if you decide to bring one.

Also remember…no matter how you feel personally, not tipping street performers in the French Quarter when you take a photo will not be tolerated on my walks! These people work hard, stand there for 8 10 hours at a time most days, and have rent to pay and food to buy. Your shot of them, may or may not make you money, or win a prize, or get you more likes on FB and G+…They at least deserve a few bucks for their efforts from anyone who takes their photo. As someone who walks the Quarters almost daily, I know many of these regulars, and while their lifestyle and such may not appeal to you, they are still people trying to make a living. And after all…if it wasn’t for some of them..musicians included…where would we get all the ” Cool ” shots? :)

We will be stopping here and there at pubs/bars for food and drinks along the way, but we DO have a schedule to keep to for some of our prime shooting I have tried to arrange. After the official walk is over, those that want to stick around for a bit more wandering and partying are more than welcome.

If anyone has any questions..please post them here so everyone can see them and hopefully have their questions answered as well.

See ya’ll Tomorrow!!! 7 pm sharp we leave from in front of the Mint to go to Turtle Bay for our first drink!! :)
