Plug-ins are huge! Everyone is using 'em.

Plug-ins are huge! Everyone is using ‘em. Usually photographers start off in one of the key programs like Lightroom or Photoshop. But then, jump in to a plug-in to help finish things off with effects and settings that only plug-ins offer. In this class, Matt Kloskowski takes a look at onOne’s new Perfect Photo Suite 8. Not only is it a great place to add special effects to your photos, retouching them in just a few clicks, and convert to gorgeous black and whites, but it’s also become a one-stop shop if you wanted to edit a photo from start to finish.

  1. Hi Matt, I have one question and that is. When you apply and save an image it goes back into lightroom as a psd file. I wanted to run it through nik define 2 and said it would not work as it did not recognize file format. Does that mean I have to export into layers as a tiff file and can you still use layers or it can only be a psd file to work properly or do I save as a tiff file when exiting layers. I think I have jumbled things up here. I guess I am asking what would be the workflow if using pps8 and nik collection. I generaly start in Lightroom.

  2. As always, Matt is a teacher first and foremost. However, there was a chapter 11 that would not play for me last night (on tips and tricks) but today it is not listed. Any reason why?
